Do you like Mondays?
As many people in this culture I used to not be so happy about Mondays. Maybe not because I had partied whole weekend and trying to get focused on work. But I had Sunday evening anxiety – I knew that the weekend was over – time’s up. I was thinking about how much I didn’t manage to get done and that I absolutely didn’t had time to actually rest. I am definitely the one who is rooting for 4 working day week Because then you would have three holidays – one for all the chores, one for cleaning the house and then finally one for rest. Now you have to squeeze it all in two days. And often you sacrifice the resting part and start next working week grumpy.
But then I learned to love Mondays (the same as I learned to love beetroots, which I hated as a kid). Every Monday is a new beginning – you start over. With new energy, new plans, new opportunities, new workouts. Especially, if you are like me, who likes to plan everything in ahead. I tend to maximize the Mondays by planning a little too much on these days. Because I know – if I will not manage to finish everything, I will have time to do it during the rest of the week. I also used to have the toughest workouts for Monday – because not always I got to exercise during weekends. There are school home works, there are shopping, there are cleaning, there are game playing and there are movie nights. As much as I would love to squeeze in also my workouts – I always prioritize my family during weekends (another reason for that 4/3 week principle). So now when the first Monday of my maternity leave has come, I have planned my calendar for almost every minute (and even are double booked at 18 o clock in the evening). So I will enjoy this Monday as much as I can. And I hope you will too. Seize this day, get the best of it. And if something goes wrong or you miss something – you will have the rest of the week to switch the mood, to finish the tasks and to enjoy the new opportunities.
